An eco-friendly residential structure is planned and executed to minimize environmental impact through optimized material usage, reduced embodied energy, and conservation of natural resources. Reduction in cement consumption is a key strategy, as cement production is a major source of CO₂ emissions. In this project, the slab system has been optimized by partially replacing concrete with strategically placed brick infill at predetermined spacing prior to concreting, thereby reducing the overall volume of concrete without compromising structural performance.

This technique enhances thermal mass and insulation, contributing to improved indoor thermal comfort and reduced cooling energy demand during summer. Wall construction has been carried out using stabilized mud blocks manufactured from soil excavated on site for foundation works, effectively reducing transportation, material wastage, and embodied carbon, and supporting long-term sustainability.
