SEG Automotive already had a fully functional factory with an internal clear height of more than 15 feet. The requirement was to create a dedicated workstation inside the existing production area. Since the factory involved continuous operations and high noise levels, the workstation needed to be acoustically calm and independently air-conditioned.
The major challenge was that the factory was operational, and production could not be stopped at any stage. Additionally, no new foundations or excavation were permitted within the premises. To address these constraints, we proposed a lightweight PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) structure that could be installed without disturbing the existing floor or ongoing activities.
The PEB structure was carefully designed to be directly pinned and supported on the existing walls. Prior to execution, a detailed structural assessment of the existing walls was carried out to ensure their adequacy for the proposed load transfer. Based on this evaluation, the structure was safely designed, detailed, and executed, meeting functional, structural, and operational requirements without interrupting factory production.
